Robert Brands, a well-loved and respected innovative thinker and the chief executive officer of VariBlend, passed away due to a tragic accident in October. He had served as CEO since June 2014. He leaves behind a wife, Janice, and two sons.

Martin Kleinman, a long-time friend and industry collaborator of Brands, said: “It is a shock to us all, especially in light of Robert’s unflagging energy, creativity, push for excellence and, most importantly, his overarching humanity. In a world with far too many ‘bad actors,’ Robert represented all that was honorable in this difficult world. He was one of the ‘good guys’ and I will miss him greatly. I know you will too.”

Details of a memorial service had not been announced at press time.
